GABRIELLE MOTOLA
Gabrielle Motola is an American born, British nationalised award-winning documentary and portrait photographer and writer based in London. She has lived in several countries as a child and adult and speaks multiple languages. She frequently combines solo motorcycle travel with photography and writing. Her work focuses on long-term projects, often evolving into immersive journeys that continue to take her around the globe. Her career began as a colour type RA4 printer in professional labs and as an editor of motion pictures, moving into post consultation and then colour correction. She spent the better part of five years living in Iceland, where she produced her first book, An Equal Difference, published in 2016. It was during the making of this book that she began writing professionally. She practices street portraiture daily and is highly skilled at directing natural performances in any situation.
