Stevens’ practice lies at the intersection between the female gaze and the autobiographical. Using figurative and landscape subjects she explores human relationships, connection and vulnerability to create still and moving images infused with emotion and a distinct visual tension. Her work seeks to visually represent our private internal world, contemplating the relationship between artist and subject matter to create studies on intimacy, solitude, loss and longing.
